A group operating under the name – Abia Unity and Development Movement (AUDM) has described the refusal of the Senatorial Candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe to step down for his younger brother, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), shows he hates the people of Abia south and wants reelection because of his selfish interest.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Aba, by the State coordinator, Comrade Godson Uba, the group said “We are embarrassed by the conduct of our brother, Sen. Enyinaya Abaribe who has consistently brushed aside wise counsel from leaders in Abia south who have continued to persuade him to step down for his kid brother, Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu.

According to the release, “Members of our group are also amused by the utterances of Abaribe against the governor. These are not in good taste and we are calling on him to retrace his steps in the interest of the whole Abia south at this critical time.”

According to the group, nobody in Abia south senatorial zone takes Sen. Abaribe’s aspiration serious anymore because of his past political antecedent.

“He think the people around him are working for his success, not knowing that 90 percent of the people inside his camp are working for Ikpeazu. What Abaribe stands for has collapsed, many of his trusted allies will dump him before elections”, Uba said.
